Stocks jump 2.59%, 02/14

China's main stock index climbed 2.59 percent on Wednesday, continuing a bullish trend that began last week.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2905.093. A total of 677 companies on the Shanghai A-share market made gains, while 89 saw losses.

China Yangtze Power Co jumped 5.79 percent to 12.98 yuan after the company announced plans to buy a stake in Hubei Provincial Energy Group Co.
