Energy: CNPC crude output up

China National Petroleum Corp said its crude output from domestic fields rose three percent in January.

The company produced 9.5 million tons of crude (about 2.2 million barrels a day) in the first month of this year, said CNPC Research Institute of Economics and Technology, a unit of China National Petroleum. The firm, parent of Hong Kong-listed PetroChina Co, is expanding production to tap increased demand.
