Trade: Soybean imports

China may import 34.5 million metric tons of soybeans in the 12 months starting on October 1, up 9.5 percent from the current year, the United States Department of Agriculture said.

Growth is driven by China's rising demand for vegetable oil, the agency said in a report dated March 1. China is the world's biggest consumer of soybeans.
