Lanzhou Aluminum Co will increase production of foil used to wrap food and medicine after China's biggest aluminum maker completes its purchase of the company. The firm will expand output and sales with the help from Aluminum Corp of China, or Chalco.

This included a new production line with an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons. The production line may begin in May, Lanzhou Chairman Feng Shiwei said yesterday in Beijing. China's demand for aluminum foil, spurred by increased use in packaged consumer products, will grow as much as 15 percent a year by 2010, said Feng.
