China will receive its first B787 before the 2008 Olympic Games, Boeing said yesterday.

Boeing is scheduled to deliver the first B787 to ANA in May next year.

After the first delivery, "the bulk of the following deliveries for a couple months are essentially all to Chinese airlines", said Mike Bair, Boeing Commercial Airplanes' vice-president and general manager for the B787 program.

"The early part of summer 2008 is basically the months for the program in terms of making deliveries in China," Bair said.
