Real estate: New home prices jump 5.9 percent

New home prices in 70 Chinese cities rose 5.9 percent in February from a year earlier, slowing 0.2 percentage points from January, a government survey said.

New home prices in Beijing rose 9.7 percent last month on year, slowing from a 9.9 percent increase in January, according to a survey posted on the National Development and Reform Commission's Website. The southern city of Shenzhen gained 9.9 percent last month compared to 2005. The city's new home prices jumped 10.2 percent in January on year.
