Brilliance China drills deeper into car market

Brilliance Automotive raises 2007 sales forecast

Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd recently kicked off its Program A, which it had planned for three years, targeting the economy family car market.

According to the program, a brand-new strategic platform and the top priority in future development for Brilliance China, the Chinese partner of BMW AG will develop four A-class cars, including a notchback, a hatchback, a multi-purpose vehicle and a sports sedan.

Brilliance aims to expand its product mix, which will be comprised of mid-grade Zhonghua sedans like the Grandeur and Splendor, mid- to high-grade models like the Zhonghua 1.8T and the A-class segment with engine displacements of between 1.3 and 1.6 liters, according to company board chairman Qi Yumin.
