The first phase of the project, with a total investment of one billion yuan, will have a total annual production capacity of one million kilowatts of wind power generation equipment with annual sales revenue of 12 billion yuan.
In the coming three to five years, the base will be able to produce two million kilowatts of wind power generation equipment annually with annual sales revenue of 30 billion yuan.
Huang Qifan, vice mayor of Chongqing said the project will help change the existing conditions that most of China's large-powered wind generators are imported.
The project can improve the reliability and stability of China's wind power equipment and will help Chongqing develop its wind power industry, Huang added.
