Cathay Life sets up branch in Fujian

Cathay Life Insurance Company set up a branch in East China's Fujian Province, its third branch in the Chinese mainland.

Zhang Fade, Cathay Life's general manager, said the Fujian Branch is based in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. Then it will set up sales and marketing offices in other cities of the province, such as Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Longyan.

Cathay may also move toward North China, to Beijing and Shandong Province for example, in the future, Zhang said.

Cathay Life, a 50-50 joint venture between Taiwan Cathay Life, the leading life insurer in Taiwan, and China Eastern Group, one of the China mainland’s three aviation giants, was established in Shanghai in 2005 with registered capital of 800 million yuan (US$106.4 million).
