Macao's exports, imports rise in October

Macao's exports saw a year-on-year rise of 12 percent while imports saw a year-on-year increase of 27.8 percent in October, according to official statistics issued on Friday.

The figures released by the government-run Statistics and Census Services (SCS) showed that textile and garment exports, which accounted for 65.3 percent of Macao's total export value in the month, witnessed a year-on-year drop of 3.9 percent.

The United States and the European Union remained as Macao's major export markets during the period, jointly making up 58.2 percent of the total export value, the figures showed.

Meanwhile, the region's major suppliers of imported goods remained mainly in Asia, the statistics displayed.
