Edible oil prices continue to rise

Edible oil prices continued to rise in Chinese regions hit hard by inclement weather since late January, the National Development and Reform Commission said yesterday.

Edible oil prices have continued to rise in recent days in parts of China's central and southern regions, where transport and power was cut by heavy snowstorms.

Although transport and power has largely been restored, supplies are yet to fully catch up.

Vegetable, grain and meat prices, however, are largely stable, the commission said.
