China Rail Erju, Lehman unit to set up $41m JV

Construction contractor China Railway Erju Co said on Tuesday it will set up a $40.54 million joint venture (JV) with a unit of US investment bank Lehman Brothers to invest in urban industrial projects.

The venture, based in the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu, will be 51 percent owned by the Chinese company, which will invest 150 million yuan ($21.37 million), and 49 percent owned by the Lehman unit, ALAM Southwest Holdings, Railway Erju said in a statement published in the Shanghai Securities News.

The venture, which is pending regulatory approval, will invest in infrastructure projects, industrial parks and other urban industrial projects, it said in the statement.
