Forum held to promote global investment

The Global Investment Promotion Forum, with the theme, "Urban Agglomeration Economies and Foreign Direct Investment," was held on April 24 in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

It was the first international forum systematically discussing the development of urban economic circles, consisting of more than experts simply sharing their opinions on the theme.

Representatives from the world's top 500 enterprises, leading research institutions, the World Bank and other international organizations, were present at the conference to share their successful experiences in theory and practice and discuss the industrial layout of urban economic circles, the regional markets, urban and rural planning, institutional innovation, investment, and the concepts behind building industrial chains and value chains in the circle.

Renaud Klein, senior president of Medtronic in Asia and the representative from the United Nations Development Programme in China, delivered a speech at the forum.

Cheng Xiangqun, mayor of Nanning City, also made a speech titled, "Nanning City is playing the leading role in the Guangxi Beibu Bay Economic Zone."
