(Agencies)
Updated: 2008-05-28 14:07 Nylon producer Nilit said Tuesday it will open a new nylon production facility in China's Jiangsu Province on June 3. The company -- which makes nylon 6.6 polyamide fibers for fashion bodywear, activewear, legwear and intimate apparel -- said the approximately 32,000-square-foot facility will be in Suzhou. Nilit Ltd is based in Israel and has its American headquarters in Greensboro. "We are very proud and excited to welcome the new Suzhou facility into Nilit's global manufacturing network," said Oded Breier, Nilit's marketing and sales manager. "Our Suzhou plant will upgrade the availability and quality of textured nylon yarns offered in the region and will also increase local access to Nilit's technical experts. This will be extremely valuable to our Chinese customers, especially those exporting to Western apparel markets." Initially, the new plant will produce textured nylon yarns, but the company plans to eventually expand and add spinning capabilities. Nilit also has incorporated its energy conservation and recycling methods into the Suzhou plant, which will employ 100 local workers. (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
