ZTE introduces 3G-oriented solutions overseas

ZTE Corporation, a leading Chinese telecommunication company, has presented and introduced its 3G- oriented value added service products and solutions in Dhaka to Bangladesh's third largest telecom operator AKTEL, a release said.

A release from ZTE Corporation Bangladesh Office said in Dhaka on Sunday, during a seminar named "Stepping into 3G" jointly organized by ZTE and AKTEL on Thursday, technical experts of ZTE presented a wide range of 3G-oriented value added service products and solutions of ZTE.

They also presented and introduced the low toal cost of ownership, low power consumption, smooth evolution enabled GSM/ UMTS network solution of ZTE, a leading telecommunications product manufacturer and wireless solution provider in China.

Besides, experts of ZTE offered some strategic proposals on network development to AKTEL, the release said.

Kamshul Bin Kasim, the Chief Technical Officer of AKTEL in his speech highly praised the strong technical strength of ZTE Corporation and said he was extremely impressed by the industry- leading software defined radio (SDR) base station of ZTE.

The new generation of SDR base station can support both GSM and UMTS, achieve the smooth evolution to LTE, and will also support CDMA and Wimax in the coming future, just by upgrading the software without changing the hardware.

Its ability to support multiple telecom standards and to provide the smooth evolution to new technology will significantly reduce the investment risk and network construction costs for operators, promote the network integration, and ensure the sustained and stable development of network.

More than 200 employees of AKTEL and ZTE participated in the seminar.

AKTEL has 7.71 million subscribers till May this year out of the country's total 42.04 million mobile users.
