German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz's car sales soared 52 percent in China in the first 11 months of this year to 35,200 vehicles, beating its yearly sales target one month in advance.

Mercedes-Benz's flagship model, the S-Class, contributed 13,000 units to their overall sales, jumping 45 percent from a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

The SUV lineup fared even better with sales rising by more than 100 percent.

As of the end of November, the German auto giant has delivered 3,000 units of its roadsters to the Chinese mainland.

Statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that from January to November, automakers in China sold more than 6.16 million units of passenger cars across the country, up 8.87 percent from a year earlier.

However, in November, sedan sales in China slipped 10.94 percent year-on-year to 389,600 units, the third monthly decline this year.
