Symantec launches Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition in China

Symantec Corp, maker of Norton security software, recently announced the availability of Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition, a new offering designed specifically with the gaming community in mind.

From protecting assets earned on massive multi-player games to keeping malware at bay, Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition is fast and light on system resources, and never compromises the gaming experience.

"As a partner of the 2009 WCG Championship, we hope to make more game players know that there are solutions to their concern," George Huang, general manager of Symantec's Consumer Products & Solutions China, told China Daily reporter at the press conference of the WCG 2009.

The Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition was available in the Chinese market as of March 5 this year. Priced at 199 yuan ($29), the software includes one-year of virus definition updates.

"The product is the first anti-virus software special for game players and will have a bright future," Huang said.
