The mainland and Taiwan officials exchanged views on cooperation in tourism and the production and sale of farm produce.

The Taiwan visitors said the exhibit is intended to introduce farm produce and tourist destinations to mainland consumers. Taiwan farmers would like to sell fresh fruit to Beijing during the winter.

Taichung city and Taichung and Changhua counties are known for their farm produce. The mountainous Nantou is Taiwan's only inland county with major tourist attractions, with 80 percent of its population from ethnic minority groups.
