Volkswagen recalls 8,680 Touareg over structure defect
(Xinhua)
Updated: 2009-07-11 14:01 Volkswagen recalled 8,680 Touareg vehicles in China after discovering that a body structure defect posed a danger to people outside the vehicle, said China's quality supervisor Friday. According to the State Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), the recall, which starts from July 20, covers imported Touaregs manufactured from November 25, 2006, to January 21, 2009.
This could injure people outside the vehicle or pose a danger to other vehicles. Volkswagen and its dealers will check the struts and install wedges to reinforce the rear spoiler free of charge. (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
