China's power generation up 4.2% in July

Updated: 2009-08-05 09:42 China generated 348.5 billion kilowatts of electricity in July, up 4.21 percent year-on-year, according to figures from the power dispatch center of the State Grid Corporation of China Tuesday.
China's power generation volume reached 1.64 trillion kilowatts in the first half of this year, declining 1.7 percent over the same period last year, as a result of the slowdown in economic growth. China's power generation volume rose 3.59 percent year-on-year in June, ending eight consecutive months of decline since October last year. (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
