China likely to cut energy use per unit of GDP by 5% this year

Updated: 2009-09-27 11:52 China is possible to reduce its energy consumption per unit of gross domestic product (GDP) by 5 percent this year, but arduous tasks remain to fulfill the pledge of 20 percent cut by 2010, said Xie Zhenhua, vice minister of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Sunday.
