Chinese shares close slightly higher

Chinese equities closed slightly higher as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 9.87 points, or 0.33 percent, to end at 3,031.33.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 92.88 points, or 0.75 percent, to close at 12,505.33.

Combined turnover fell to 187.56 billion yuan ($27.58 billion) from 229.11 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
