China's stocks drop from six-month high - Oct 26

BEIJING - China's stocks fell from a six-month high Tuesday, pulled down by makers of consumer products, on speculation recent gains were overdone.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.32 percent, or 9.88points, to close at 3,041.54.

The Shenzhen Component Index retreated 0.03 percent, or 4.23 points, to finish at 13,729.96.

Combined turnover rose to 455.9 billion yuan ($68.35 billion) from 442.5 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Gainers outnumbered losers 466 to 406 in Shanghai while losers outnumbered gainers 554 to 526 in Shenzhen.
