Residents incomes continue to grow in Q1

BEIJING - Incomes of China's urban and rural residents continued to increase in the first quarter this year, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed Friday.

In the first three months of this year, urban residents' per-capita disposable income reached 5,963 yuan ($913), up 12.3 percent year on year. After deducting inflation, actual growth was 7.1 percent, NBS spokesman Sheng Laiyun said.

Growth of per-capita cash income of rural residents outpaced that of urbanites in the first quarter, hitting 20.6 percent in the first quarter to 2,187 yuan. The actual growth after factoring in price adjustments was 14.3 percent, Sheng said.
