Chinese shares open higher - May 9

BEIJING -- Chinese shares opened higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.15 percent to 2,868.24 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.05 percent at the opening to 12,074.14.
