HONG KONG -- Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) ministerial meetings in the United States, the Hong Kong city government said on Tuesday in a statement.
So will attend the APEC Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade, in which trade ministers from APEC member economies will discuss ways to move the negotiations of the Doha Development Agenda forward to the next phase, according to the statement.
So will then participate in a joint meeting to discuss barriers impeding the ability of small and medium enterprises to trade in the Asia-Pacific region.
He will later attend the 18th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Ministerial Meeting, where ministers will discuss ways to help SMEs use new technologies to reduce the cost of doing business, the statement said.
The APEC ministerial meetings will be held in the state of Montana from May 19 to 21.
