Chinese shares close mixed Friday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed mixed Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.04 percent, or 1.12 points, to finish at 2,858.46.

The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.02 percent, or 2.91 points, to end at 12,161.03.
