Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality exported 1.28 million motorcycles in the first four months of this year, an increase of 10.9 percent over the year-earlier level, according to the local customs house.
The exports, which accounted for 35.5 percent of China's total, were valued at $500 million, up 16.9 percent year-on-year.
From January to April, Chongqing sold 564,000 motorcycles to Asian markets, up 20.1 percent year-on-year, 469,000 units to Latin America, up 10 percent, and 203,000 units to Africa, down 3.7 percent.
