Topic 1: While demand for Apple Inc's tablet computer the iPad exceeds supply, the US company's competitors have been cutting the prices of their own tablet computer products to promote sales. However, the tactic does not appear to be working. The indications are that customers do not just want any tablet computer; they specifically want the iPad, according to the official micro blog of the Chinese version of the Wall Street Journal.
LABIKU: The sales of Samsung Electronics Co's tablet computer are not that bad. I don't think monopoly is a good thing.
BUKEKEBUKE: Apple Inc's products have three features: a high-performance operating system, excellent appearance and feel and a fast upgrading speed. In the future, the only company that is likely to break the monopoly has to be Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.
WANGQUANGENG: The iPad is a tablet computer but not all tablet computers are iPads.
ZHIMACHANGKAIHUA: I think this phenomenon is obvious in China in particular.
Topic 2:
China CNR Corporation Ltd, one of the country's largest train producers, will recall 54 high-speed trains used on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway out of safety concerns, the company said in a statement released on Aug 12. The company previously announced that it has ceased delivering CRH380BL bullet trains and has begun a technical overhaul. The company's chairman was quoted as saying that the recall was a hard decision for them.ALEGEWEIBO: If the tragic train crash hadn't happened, I wonder whether they would have recalled the trains.
TANGDOUER929: This is the first I have heard that the trains are being recalled.
FENGZI: The recall is a responsible act.
HAOZI628: Foreign countries recall automobiles while our country recalls high-speed trains.
LEISILINGBSP: Why is it a hard decision? It should be a decision without any hesitation to recall these bullet trains if they pose a threat to people's lives with their poor quality.
