Shaanxi province plans to build five national highway transportation hubs in its six large- and medium-sized cities, local transportation authorities said Monday.
The hubs are part of a highway network plan that was made by the Ministry of Transportation to improve the country's transportation system. The six cities are the provincial capital Xi'an, Xianyang, Baoji, Yulin, Hanzhong and Yan'an, among which Xi'an and Xianyang will be among 12 national composite hubs.
According to the plan, Shaanxi will build 42 passenger transport terminals and 39 cargo terminals in 15 years to facilitate connections with ports, airports and railway stations.
