BEIJING -- South East Motor, an automotive joint venture between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, will recall a total of 7,127 Mitsubishi Zinger cars beginning Mar 1, the country's top quality watchdog said Wednesday.
The cars to be recalled were produced between June 4, 2008 and Jan 5, 2012, according to a statement posted on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Bad welding on the vehicles' central steering poles may affect driving and cause steering wheels to be ineffective, according to the statement.
South East Motor will offer free checks and repairs to the recalled vehicles, said the statement.
