BEIJING -- China added 75.78 million mobile phone users during the first seven months of 2012, including 55.34 million 3G subscribers, official data showed Monday.
However, the number of fixed-line users fell 1.91 million during the same period, according to a statement by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The telecommunication industry reported 610.67 billion yuan ($96.93 billion) in primary business revenues in the January-July period, up 9.2 percent from a year earlier, the statement said.
Revenues from mobile telecommunication rose 11.3 percent year-on-year during the first seven months, accounting for 73.04 percent of the total, up 1.4 percentage points from a year earlier, while the rest of revenues came from fixed-line businesses, according to the statement.
