2013 BMW 5 Series Li
The new BMW 5 Series Li made at the German carmaker's local joint venture was launched at last week's Chengdu Auto Show, retailing from 428,600 to 797,600 yuan.
The model features the BMW's latest 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, which has better fuel efficiency than the model's previous 2.5-liter inline six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine.
It is the only car in its segment equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which also helps improve performance while reducing fuel consumption.
The 525 Li has maximum power of 180 kW and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
The carmaker's latest-generation iDrive system is standard on the new BMW 5 Series Li. The advanced human-computer interaction system combined with BMW's ConnectiveDrive technologies is designed to add more fun to the driving experience and offer easier access to the mobile Internet.
BMW sold about 58,000 locally built 5 Series cars in the first seven months this year, up 42.7 percent from the same period in 2011.
