China's insurance income reached 1,311.4 billion yuan ($208 billion) in the first 10 months this year, with the growth slowing down due to the sluggish economy, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission said on its website on Thursday.

China's non-life insurance premium income hit 436.8 billion yuan in the first 10 months. That from the life insurance and health insurance sectors stood at 768 billion yuan and 73.2 billion yuan, according to the commission.

"The insurance industry still maintains a steady growth amid the economic slowdown both at home and abroad, with the non-life insurance sector still experiencing comparatively fast growth," Zhao Qinghan, deputy director of intermediary supervision department of the commission, told Hexun Insurance Forum.
