HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks rose 655.06 points, or 2.89 percent, to close at 23,311.98 on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 23,317.39 and 22,860.25. Turnover totaled HK$82.44 billion (about $10.63 billion). ($1 = HK$7.752)
