Foxconn Technology Group, the electronics manufacturing giant, said Tuesday that it will set up a joint venture with LeTV.com, a Chinese online video portal, China Business News reported on Wednesday.

The joint venture will focus on promoting Chinese film and TV culture overseas, said the announcement.

"There are about 70 million Chinese living overseas, and they are interested in Chinese history and films. Through the joint venture, we can promote Chinese culture to the world," said Gou Shou-cheng, a senior assistant of the chairman at Foxconn.

Foxconn will also work together with LeTV in the hardware field. Foxconn will make LeTV-branded "super televisions" and Internet TV boxes.
