China's machinery firms active at intl trade fair
MUNICH, Germany - A total of 324 exhibitors from China's machinery industry have made their appearance since Monday in the world's largest specialized trade fair.
Bauma 2013, the International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment, will last until April 21 in southern German city of Munich.
As the exhibition is stocked with almost everything of the machinery industry like overhead crane, pump truck, excavator, mining vehicles and other types of construction machinery, local media call it a temporarily built "construction site".
The number of China's exhibitors ranks just after Germany (1367) and Italy (478) as the third, occupying 10 percent of the whole exhibition area.
A big show of world-leading machinery equipment from Zoomlion, Sany Group and other China's leading enterprises stands out particularly.
Asked about the reasons of taking part in the every-three-year event, Zhang Jianguo, senior president of Zoomlion, told Xinhua that "We want to show the capability of Chinese enterprises, making our customers and counterparts get more knowledge of the high-speed development of Chinese enterprises in recent years."
"In addition, this platform is actually a stage for us and counterparts to learn from each other." Zhang added.
The Munich Exhibition Center has placed 16 exhibition halls and a total outdoor area of 570,000 square meters for the trade fair, which attracts 3443 exhibitors from 57 countries and regions and expects 450,000 audiences from all over the world. All the numbers mentioned above will be the highest in the Bauma's history since 1954.
