China's Guangxi to hold trade fair in Vietnam
HANOI - China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will hold a trade fair in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on June 11-14 to boost bilateral trade between Vietnam and the province.
The 8th Guangxi trade fair in Vietnam is expected to draw over 100 Chinese enterprises, said Li Shuo, an official of the Department of Commerce of Guangxi on Tuesday.
With 104 pavilions covering an area of 5,000 square meters, the fair will display products including automobile, construction machinery, electronic, ceramic, chemical and pharmaceutical products.
According to statistics, the value of contracts signed during the past seven trade fairs has exceeded $1 billion, said Li.
On the sidelines of the fair, a forum will be held on June 10 to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam.
Trade relations between Guangxi and Vietnam have increased remarkably in the past few years. In 2012, bilateral trade turnover between Guangxi and Vietnam reached $972 million, up 28.4 percent year-on-year.
Vietnam has been the biggest trade partner of Guangxi for the past four years, said Li. As of 2012, Guangxi has invested in 142 projects in Vietnam worth nearly $298 million.
