CNOOC Kenli oilfields start production

China's largest offshore oil and gas company CNOOC Limited announced that its Kenli 3-2 oilfields have started production on Monday, which will increase crude output for the company.

CNOOC licensed to seek Arctic oil

The Kenli 3-2 oilfields, located in the southern Bohai Sea, consists of Kenli 3-2, Bozhong 34-6/7, southern part of Bozhong 29-4 and Bozhong 35-2 oilfields.

The peak production of the oilfields is estimated to be around 35,000 barrels a day, according to the company.

The average water depth is about 20 meters. The primary production facilities include seven offshore platforms and one onshore oil processing terminal.

CNOOC holds 100 percent interest in the oilfields. CNOOC's last year net profit fell 11.4 percent to 56.46 billion yuan ($9.11 billion) while its net oil and gas production reached 411.7 million barrel of oil equivalent, up 20.2 percent.
