According to preliminary data from IDC Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Samsung succeeded in keeping its No 1 position in the world's smartphone market in 2014. But the shipment volume growth compared with 2013 was only 0.6 percent, far less than other vendors.
Both China's Huawei and Lenovo saw shipment volume increase more than 50 percent in 2014, outperforming the others.
