Sephora, the global beauty retailer of LVMH Group, announced its first Chinese online flagship store at JD.com on Wednesday.
It is also Sephora's only online store on the e-commerce platform worldwide.
Chinese market is very unique and Sephora needs to take unique strategy here, Anne Veronique Bruel, president of Sephora Asia, explained why the retailer cooperates with JD.com, which is China's largest online direct sales company.
Upon launch, Sephora's store will be the largest cosmetics store on JD.com's platform, with over 1,200 items from more than 70 brands, said Shen Haoyu, CEO of JD Mall.
Cosmetics have already played an important role on China's e-commerce market with an encouraging growth, he said.
