Chapagain said that knowledge gives us confidence, confidence gives us hope and hope gives us peace. This Seminar serves as an important platform for participants to learn from each other and translate knowledge into actions. Only by bringing knowledge back to respective organizations can it be translated into concrete actions, save lives and make humanitarian work more meaningful. Crisis prevention and response are the two main themes of this Seminar. The humanitarian aid shall not only focus on measures taken after the crisis or disaster, but should also strengthen pre-disaster inputs to prevent the occurrence of disasters and crises. As the Co-chair of IFRC, China plays a vital role in regional and international humanitarian affairs. IFRC will, put emphasis on five areas of action including dignity, security, resilience, partnership and financing, make effective moves in the next decade.
