DHAKA - Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched three smartphones in Bangladesh for the first time in collaboration with the country's top largest cell phone operator Grameenphone.
According to a statement released by the Grameenphone on Thursday, the launching event was held at the Grameenphone Corporate House in Dhaka on Wednesday with the presence of Grameenphone Chief Marketing Officer Yasir Azman and Majibor Rahman, managing director of Solar-Electro Bangladesh Ltd, the official national distributor for Xiaomi in Bangladesh.
Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company headquartered in Beijing, is the world's 5th largest smartphone maker. In 2015, Xiaomi sold 70.8 million units and accounted for almost 5 percent of the smartphone global market share.
