First China-Iran Economic Opportunities Seminar held in Shanghai
In the year of 138 BC, the emperor of the Han Dynasty commanded Zhang Qian to a mission to the western regions. He opened the famous Silk Road. He probably never thought that the meaning of the silk road would stand for more than the route itself now, more than 2000 years later. The silk road is given a new life today.
The First Iran-China Silk Road Economic Opportunities Seminar was successfully held on September 8th, 2016 in Shanghai, organized by IRANCHAM-Shanghai and TPO Iran and aiming at enhancing and strengthening bilateral cooperation and boosting the new fields of joint investments between the two countries. Representatives from all cultures numbering over 160 people gathered together under the same roof, including but not limited to Consulate General of I.R.IRAN-Shanghai, TPO Iran, IRANCHAM-Shanghai, IRISL, I.R.IRAN FTZ, CCPIT-Shanghai, CCOIC-Shanghai, Shanghai Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce, Zhejiang Department of Commerce, Yiwu government and Chinese company ZPMC.

"China is the good friend of I.R.Iran, Iran will not forget that even in the most difficult time China developed friendly cooperation with Iran." During the seminar, Mr.A. Irvash stated. At the same time, he expressed that the "Belt and Road Initiative" advocated by Chairman Xi Jinping is not only China's economic road but also a cultural road, it will bring enormous opportunities to those countries along the Road. Iran as the key country to link China, west Asia and Europe will welcome a great opportunity for development.
