The United States is the wealthiest country in the world, with a total wealth of $48.9 trillion as of June, according to a report released by research company New World Wealth on August 23.
The report ranks countries by their total individual wealth, which refers to the private net assets minus any liabilities held by all the individuals in each country, including property, cash, equities and business interests, excluding government funds.
Three Asian countries are among the world's top 10 wealthiest countries, with China ranking second in the list.
