JAKARTA - Indonesia will take part in China's annual tourism expo in Xi'an on Aug 4-6, to tap more visitors from China and other countries, an official from the Tourism Ministry said Tuesday.
During the upcoming China Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (CXSRITE), Indonesian exhibitors would actively promote national destinations, 2018 Asian Games to be held in Indonesia's Jakarta and Palembang, and meetings between Indonesian tour agencies and their counterparts from China and other countries, the official said.
"The expo is highly expected to produce significant amount of tour package transactions, which would eventually bring more foreign visitors to Indonesia," Vincensius Jemadu, assistant deputy minister for Asia Pacific Tourism Development at the Tourism Ministry said.
Indonesian exhibitors would occupy 108 square meters in the upcoming annual tourism expo held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shannxi province.
Some 45,000 people were estimated to visit the tourism expo, where more than 500 exhibitors from 30 countries have been registered to take part.
