Culture, customs and sports will make highlights of the cooperative agreements to be signed during President Xi Jinping's upcoming state visit to Switzerland, a senior Chinese diplomat said on Wednesday.

Xi will visit Switzerland from Jan 15 to 18, and he will attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting at Davos on Jan 17.

Vice-Foreign Minister Li Baodong told a Wednesday news conference in Beijing that Xi will attend a welcome ceremony, an official meeting, the signing ceremony of cooperative and jointly meet the press during the state visit.

According to Li, Xi will also meet with Swiss lawmakers and representatives of the Swiss business circle.

The Swiss side has long prioritized innovation and connectivity, which offers a great room for boosting two-way cooperation, Li noted.

The visit will send a positive signal that the two countries jointly champion world peace and stability as well as the open trade system, Li said.
