China's auto sales up 10.3% in Aug
BEIJING -- China's auto sales rose 10.28 percent year-on-year with 1.65 million units sold in August, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers announced Tuesday.
The volume marked an 8.74 percent monthly increase, the CAAM said.
Output surpassed sales to hit nearly 1.68 million units in August, with year-on-year growth of 11.7 percent and 5.92 percent growth month on month, the CAAM said.
In the first eight months of 2013, auto sales totaled 13.95 million units, an increase of 11.81 percent from the same period last year, but slower than the 12 percent rate seen in the first seven months.
Auto output in the January-August period rose 12.36 percent from a year ago to 14.01 million units, according to the CAAM.
