Skoda recently withdrew its import-car channel under Volkswagen Group, one of its two import-car distributors in China.
Shanghai Volkswagen, the joint venture between SAIC Motor and Volkswagen Group, is now solely responsible for Skoda’s import car business, Beijing Times reported.
According to the paper, the Skoda import-car project was launched in 2013. Skoda imported models include the Yeti and Superb Derivative.
The company did not release sales details of the two models, but it is estimated they were inadequate because of the relatively high price.
