30,000 varieties of goods grant Nanjing natives a glimpse of Taiwan

The 2009 Taiwan Province Trade Fair, which features 30,000 different commodities, opened in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province in east China, on Thursday.

Over 1000 wholesale and company buyers have been specially invited by the Nanjing municipal government.

This trade fair, co-organized by the Nanjing municipal government and the Taipei World Trade Center for the first time, is the largest ever such event organized by the Center outside the Taiwan island. The exhibition area for this trade fair covers 38,000 sq m, with 1,860 booths.

The fair will be open until Saturday, with 30,000 kinds of commodities available, including communication gadgets, computers, consumer electronics, home appliances, fruits, flowers and other goods.

The various commodities come from over 750 companies, 73 percent of which are local companies from Taiwan and the rest of which are Taiwan-funded companies based in the Chinese mainland.
